About
At From the Archives, we want you to give us your tired cliches, your poor first attempt at a psychological thriller short story, your muddled manuscripts yearning to breathe free from the 23 years’ worth of accumulated dust in the back left corner of the basement. We give writers and artists the opportunity to scour the library of their own works and dig out those that mark the beginning or a turn in their creative journey. Whether it’s a masterpiece or hot trash, From the Archives proudly puts the work on exhibition, showcasing the invaluable personal history of the respective artists.

Now, writers and artists, you can’t just send us a pitiful painting you made after trying to follow season 8 episode 14 of The Joy of Painting and call it a day. This sad painting will mean nothing to readers unless you provide us with some context as to why the painting is significant. Along with your archived work, send us a supplementary writing that reflects on, responds to, and/or elaborates on it. We want your past in relation to the present. Show us how that dinky Bob Ross painting is causal, not tangential. And we encourage that supplemental writing to be creative. A poem, a short story, an essay, a song, a drama. All of these are welcome.
